Akıl
Midenin orucu yeme ve içmeden, dilin orucu lüzumsuz konuşmadan, kalbin orucu fikir, hayal ve kuruntulardandır. Kalbin gözü (gaybı) görünmeyen alemi görür, kulağı sözlerini duyar, burnu kokusunu koklar, tadı, lezzetini tadar ve böylece ilahi sevginin lezzeti içinde gömülür. Allah’ın sevgisinden gayrısını taşımayan kalp, arş ve rahmandır. Cihan sultanıdır, arif ve kamil (ermiş-olgun) insanın kalbidir.
Olgun insanın aklı çok, konuşması azdır. Akıl odur ki, nefsi şehvetlerden, kalbi şüpheli şeylerden, gözü harama bakmaktan meneder ve hepsini Allah’ın huzurunda toplar. Akıl, insani ruhtur ve hayvani ruhun binicisidir. Hayvani ruhsa, şehvani nefistir ve bedenin binicisidir.
Akıl ve kalp melekut ve sema, gök alemine mensuptur, nurlu ve yüksektir, beden ve nefs yer alemine (dünya) mensuptur, karanlık ve alçaktır. Akıl, yaratıcının kulu, güzel ahlakın sultanıdır. Akıl kalpte nurlu bir gözdür. Ona muhalefetin sonu pişmanlıktır. Az konuşan, doğruyu söyleyen, hakkı bilen, halka iyilik eden, akıllıdır. Kalbinde Allah sevgisinden başkasını bulundurmayan, nefsini bırakıp huzura giden, akıllı ve Allah’ın sevgilisidir. Akıl, Allah’tan gelmiştir. Akıl kudretli bir padişahtır, çünkü Allah’ın dünyadaki gölgesidir. Akıl, hak ile batılı, doğru ile yanlışı ayıran, gönlü parlatan bir nurdur. Tabiatın 4 unsuru mürid, akıl pirleri (yönetici), duyu organları asker, akıl onların kumandanıdır.
Beden uyur, akıl uyanık ve kendi aleminde gezer. Şehvetine mağlup olanın hali, akli nuru sönmüş bir göze benzer. Akılsız güzelin kalbi kinle doludur. Akıl, öyle suretlere bakmaz, sahibini ateşte yakmaz.
